Sensors

A sensor panel. On the left are sensors for temperature, ambient light, and sound. On the right is a speaker that allows the house to talk to the inhabitant.

Another sensor panel, in the kitchen. There are 12 of these panels throughout the house.

Between the two windows is another sensor panel, one of four in the great room. Also, between the sconces and the windows are motion detectors.

In the upper right corner is another motion detector in the great room, making a total of five in the great room (13 altogether in the house). By having multiple detectors in one room, the adaptive house can localize the inhabitant. Not pictured are sensors on the doors and windows that depict whether they are open or closed.
